Not to be a pessimest, but I dont think that will be finnished this month, especcially since you are planning all of the money you have saved up on tools. Also, if you do want it done this month you would about have to start ordering the parts now so that you could have them in time to get it finnished.

Ok, I was not saying anything bad about your car, just your deadline. Besides, I think that it seems that no ones car is ever as good as yours so you are not really anyone to talk.

im not saying that my car is better than anyone elses. just better that the people who seem to keep this war going (manly 95Z34), and levi's (because i like third gen better, because 3dgen does do better on power, handling, braking, ect), and there are tons of cars on this board that are faster than mine, it is stock after all. im not sayin its better than you your ta momar, but it is better than you turbo coupe (mainly because it is a ford). but you do put down my cars, you say you dont like my supra (ie, to small, it jap., I6, ect), and almost every other time you look at my car you say that you dont like the metallic blue iroc stripe at the bottom, or on the 87 i had, (ie, its red, the interior is ugly tan, it has minor damgage, you like the newer wheels better, you dont like the gold package, it had a 10 bolt drum, ect). that is what i am talkin about. i havent put down you firebird in a long time, but i will admit that i make fun of your thunderbird occasionally, but that is just because it is a ford.

Um, I still think it looks like crap. Reminds me of my friends 98 Accord. I think Camaro Hunter C had made a set of clears by just making a mold of his camaro tailights and then vacuum forming a new set with clear plastic. I don't think he ever posted any pics, but that sounds to me like a better way to go about it, at least for a camaro. I always wondered if you couldn't get a set for a mustang that has the square side, and cut it so that it would fit on a camaro. Of course after all that work it's still look ugly as hell. I personally think I'll stick with blackouts.

And I feel sorry for the post pimps, cause I can't imagine that they're getting much of a return on the post ******.

Its a ford, well it is a toyota. I am a American V8 type of person. I don't claim to like the t-bird a lot, but it gets me around while I am fixing up the T/A. Also, about the stripe, I just said that if I were going to repaint a car like that I would leave it off. I wasnt the one who always said crap about the car being red, you were the one that said you didnt like the red. As far as the gold package I said I liked the silver the best and you agreed. I also never said anything bad about your 10 bolt. Heck, the posi was better than mine, and the gears were practically the same. So basically everything except the toyota pos thing is null and void.

I was not only refering to you putting down my stuff, but everyones in general. If someone else has something nice or not you find all the problems you can with it. Heck, it doesnt even have to be a problem, it can just be something to your liking. I am not a big fan of fords obviously, but I don't necisarily think every mustang out there is a piece of crap. I also dont think every toyota for instance is a piece of crap, even though I woulnt buy one.

If I had an f-body in the conditioin your supra is in I would junk it and get a new one also. Think about it. It needs new brakes, new tires, the wheels need refinished, the body is rusting through, the frame is starting to, the hatch needs replaced, the interior needs at least cleaned real well if not replaced, the paint is all faded, there is a hole in the gas tank so it wont hold more than 4-5 galons witout spilling over, the whole suspension needs replaced and on top of all that the engine knocks now and needs rebuilt. I didnt even mention all of that before, I didnt diss your car. All I said was that I didnt think you were going to make your schedule. Oh, and the retail value of 3105 is assuming that everything wrong with the car was fixed which it obviously isn't. Also, I think you would be hard pressed(pretty much impossible) to sell it for the 1625 privite party even if it was running fine.

Never said I didnt like the iroc though, just that if I repainted it I wouldnt leave that blue stripe. Heck, you were the one that thought that it wasn't even worth what the guy wanted for it. I thought that it was a good car for the price.

Ben

Momar thanks for saying what everyone that knows AZZKIKER was thinking. and azzkiker i know that my car is not perfect but it is currently in better condition than any of yours and that is enough for me to call it better than yours. when you get a nice car i will admit that yours is better but until then do not make fun of my car for any reason and i will not make fun of your camaro. the supra is just to easy of a target to let go of though.

Umm what the hell happen to this post. Thats try to stay productive. I tried that thing by taking the red piece out and it looked ok. But either way I'm not putting the clears on my formula, it will be on my white Firebird. I just want something diffrent for that car since its getting painted soon. I know this one guy that is putting Supra Tails on his camaro and filling the gaps with body filler. I wonder how its going to work out in the end.

Have you thought about doing the corvette style taillights? Are you looking to just modify your stock lights, or are you considering making some sort of custom setup?

I have seen that in a second gen Trans-maro. It was a transam that had been converted to look more like a camaro and had vette tail lights.

I've seen em in a third gen camaro, there used to be aftermarket ones but I don't think they make them anymore. And there were a few years of I think second gen camaros that had the vette style taillights. I don't remember the years though.

It was 70-73 that almost all Chevy products had the vette tails. Malibu, Camaro, and even the nova had square style.

Isn't that how they like it in france tho?

Here's a thought on the taillight delimna. Get a set of factory taillights, and smooth 'em out anywhere that there's a height difference. I haven't look at firebird taillights to closely, so I'm gonna be talking about camaro lights, although it should work either way. So light how there's a bit of a recessed area across the middle of the taillight so that would need to be filled. So now that it's all flat, you go to store and get 4 of the round red taillights and a set of white ones of whatever style you choose. I.E., if you like the vette backup lights, just get an aftermarket set of those. If you would just like 3 circles on each side, get ones that match the red ones. Then, you drill out holes in the factory taillight for the new taillights. You may want to remove the reflector and what not that's on the backside of the factory light. Cut the holes for the red lights and for the new backup lights. After a test fit, paint the lights the body color or whatever you feel like. Then insert the the new lights, and splice their wires into the wires for the factory taillights. And voila, vette style taillights. I guess you could probably do the same for some sort of outrageous design or whatever if you wanted. It just seems to me that you should be able to modify the factory light so that you won't have to worry about any fitment issues.

Clear Taillights don't look good or compliment the looks of too many cars. Toyota Supra lights might look good. I have always liked them because they were simple, and looked clean. I have seen a lot of cars at import shows that displayed Supra lights on everything, but a Supra. I would love to have the 80's Ferrari taillights.

Out of the ashes rises the Search ****/ Post ***** to re-state that there are only a handful of cars that look "OK" with clears. Even some of the ones with them from the factory suck.

They just don't look good.

Clears look ok on cars and trucks with small, slime taillights, but definately not on cars with long and large taillights such as Firebirds and Camaros.

It doesn't look bad because of the grid, but it would definately be an invitation to be pulled over by the police

See.. I actually LIKE that.... that looks sweet. With the grid on there, it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, just looks neat and clean. I also like the one floating around that's a light silver Camaro with clears, that was one slick looking Camaro. But as for altezza-style.... blech, not on our cars...
