Rust Removal?

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but here goes. I made the bonehead mistake of letting water get down into my fuel rails when I had them off to be pressure washed and didnt realize it. The steel fittings inside the rails have rusted and I am trying to figure out a way to clean them up. Since the rails are aluminum, I know that I cant use anything too caustic or I will destory them. Also, I cant get at the fittings easily, so I cant sand them. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've had some luck with WD-40 and a small wire brush ( like a steel tooth brush ). It cleaned up some rusty tools I had nicely.

I had tried the WD-40, but alas I cant get a brush down to the fittings.
