Hey, I was stationed in Ft Knox also. I drove M1's for Charlie Co. of the 5th battalion 33rd Armored Brigade.

 

nice wheels, looks like you don't need any new ones! Yep, old Fort Knox, kind of sucks. I am prior service enlisted, now I am a 2LT (officer) going through the platoon leaders tank course. Trying to build a nice 10 second 3rd gen at the same time!

 

I was stationed there back in '84 - 86 when I was still a young buck, fresh out of high school. I lived off base though (Radcliff) w/ my girlfriend. It was quite a culture shock being from L.A. and all but it was a good learning experience. Good luck on your quest for a 10 sec 3rd gen. I'll be happy when I drop in the 350 and get the RS in the hi 12's.

 

Dropping in a 383 with the works... also 275 NOS shot to ensure 10's. Good luck with the swap!

 

can you take some pics of your clearences on your 383??? i'd like to compare them to mine...

 

badgta, once I get the motor in next week or so, I will try to get a digital cam and take pics, I am thinking I will have NO clearence with the new motor. I will be getting a 4" cowl or 2.5" what ever size I need to clear it. Soon as she is up, I will get pics of the swap and new motor! Then you can ad pics to your web site also...
