Is It me or 91-92 Formula Wheels shine more than previous years ?

87-90 : Silver painted
91-92 :Machined ...this means polished ????
What are the differences ?

I had an '88 Formula and I can tell you my '91 wheels shine more. I think they silver they are painted in is lighter than my '88s.
