Digital Camera Question

Im looking at getting a digital camera to snap some high quality shots of my car and other peoples cars....

In all seriousness....I need assistance please. I saw one at best buy that was a Kodak DX4330 with a 3.1 megapixel and even had a movie recorder on it.

http://www.bestbuy.com/detail.asp?e=...cat=83&scat=84

I have a Kodak DC....something. (actually its my dad's thats why im looking for my own) All my digital pics on my website and even the ones I post on here are from that camera and are excellent quality. I would only think that the DX4330 would be better. Im looking to get a good camera for my business.

on a side note....
Are these digital cameras with the video worth anything? I mean are the quaility of the videos any good? I don't plan on using it for a video recorder just maybe taking some quick videos for my website and such.

Any comments or recommendations?

here's the camera...

I just bought my camera last weekend and got the sony 3.1 megapixel, the pictures are great but as far as the video, none of mine have come out very well, and no sound. I would say if you want one that does a half-a$$ good job on video, you may need to spend a little more.

The pics for a 3.1 MP will be very good, but the video quality may not be what you expect. I would probably stick to just the still pics rather that spend the extra cash on a video mode. But the camera you are look at should take very good shots considering mine is only 2.3MP and takes very good high quality shots. Plus you should get the docking station with Kodak (i think). You will probably want some more memory as well. I got the extra 64mg card and can take 69 highest quality shots or 900+ low quality, which is still good but no where near the best.

Anything above 2MP is a waste if you want it for internet use.

Most of the time those digicams taht take video take low res shots that will be tiny on the screen , but it is handy.

However, I found a device that you can transfer VHS tapes onto the computer if you have a vhs camcorder, and it is only $60 or so.

sounds as if I should go one model lower then. I really don't need the video. but this DX4330 has different snapshot features than the model below it. I guess I'll just have to weigh what I need to what I want.

So far I am very pleased with Kodak. I haven't really looked into other brands.

Whats up with the docking station. What is it for?

Then if you're lookin for 35mm quality, don't go below 3MP.

My GFs 2.1MP camera printed out a nice 8x10 quality print thru her photo printer.

Mark's right about 35mm quality.. at least 3MP should be good.

The docking station is for the recharge and for easier loading of the pictures to the computer. Instead of using a separate battery charger and the usb connection to the computer.. plus it looks better!!

Let us know which one you get..
Fredel

Check out the shot my HP 318 2.3MP camera took, and this is reduced size of the actual shot! Your new 3MP camera should be amazing!!

taken with a nikon coolpix 2000, 2 megapixels.

it will take a maximum of 1600x1200 or so. i leave mine set at 1024x768 at the highest quality setting, i can squeeze approximately 30 photos on a 16 meg card.

i paid $263.11 after tax from a local camera store.

I have a kodak DX3500 (2.2mega pixel 3X digital zoom) and I love the camera. The only thing I wish it had was an optical zoom, when I use the digital zoom it sometimes blurs the pictures when I download them to my computer. I payed 170 for the camera and a 32mb card.

I've got the Kodak DX3600 camera. Its pretty bad in low light situations, but works well in day light.

Here's a pic of my sisters cat with some dramatic lighting. ^_^

I took this pic with a Sony DSC-P51. its 2MP and I am very happy with it. I only use it to keep pictures on my computer. If the pic looks fuzzy its because I'm still trying to work all the settings.

I am enjoying my Sony DVC P51. I worry about dropping sometimes though.

I like that idea for a digital camera test... show us your sister's kitty. If she doesn't have a cat, then...

I bet he woke up that cat because the cat looks pre-poised.

I just took this pic today going 75 coming back from Murphysborro, Illinois. I like how the camera automatically adjusts for changing conditions.

I think I can do one better. ^_^ I was getting on the highway this morning in my little 88hp escort. The car in front of my was a Yellow Challenger. So I decided to see if he'd open it up. I got him to and I kept with him and used the camera to take a snapshot of his car when I was side by side with him. This was right before he took off because theres no way my escort could keep with him. ^_^

I slowed down to 55 mph to make that 30 mph curve, besides that curve is a little wider than it appears in the pic.

I finally got the Kodak camera for Christmas! As soon as I get a good chance I will be getting some shots with it and even trying to get a video of my Firebird too! The camera has a audio/video feature. I can shoot up to a minutes worth of video on the standard 16MB internal memory card.

I love it!
