I can’t see that being much of a problem. I’ve never once had a headlight on any of my cars get broken and practically every car made in the 50’s 60’s 70’s and 80’s had exposed sealed beam headlights.
I see these as another thing to get scratches and fog over with time,like all the crappy plastic headlight covers new cars have do,which reduces the effectiveness of the lamps,plus based on what I’ve read it sounds like you have to permanently damage your nose with screws to mount them in. I personally like the car better without them,but to each his own.
