Wow, that car is clean for being 20+ years old
How many miles are on it?
The only thing I would do from there is tint the windows.

The shifter is a Hurst 1/4 Stick, those are the Firehawk wheels, and I agree, it is very beautiful, wish it were mine.
It's my friend Julians car, his dad is the original owner.
An LT1 or LS1 is going into it next year possibly, then it will look fast and be fast, right now the 305 isn't all that quick, but it sounds awesome, has an SLP Two On The Left exhaust, Edelbrock headers, and an Isky camshaft.

As of right now, motor is in the garage, intake was recently plumbed for the N20, carpet is coming out tomorrow if it's not raining, and tomorrow I'll start looking for sponsors to help with funding so I can get my car ready for the Players Run Event that I am entered in. I'll be representing probably the only 3rd gen Trans Am in the event, most cars will be exotics and supercars.
I'll also be setting up a donations page so people can send in funds/parts to help support my cars entry into this event.
Hopefully everything goes smooth and I get to compete.

Visiually, the car is done, motor/tranny swap are the only things left to do to the car.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. Once again thanks to Zeph for giving me a hand. I have tried to do each part to completion so it only has to be done once. So far F&R Baer brakes and polygraphite suspension bushings, subframe connectors, the interior and the firehawk wheels... window tint, an LT1 or LS1 w/4l60e, and a proper fenders and mirrors off-the-car paint job are coming when money and time permits..
The car was an LG4 82 T/A, it was my dads midlife crisis car and has 108,000 miles on it.. Being twenty one years old the car is a constant battle, everything has broken at some point in time, recently I had to replace the darn light switches.. the left rear suspension bumpstop also just fell off all thank *** for year one and classic industries..
Oh and the shifter is a hurst quarterstick camaro console model modified to fit a T/A, the shift plate is a custom peice made of aluminum that would also fit a Camaro. I am going to switch to a B&M megashifter soon since the car was modified for one and I lost the reverse lights when I went with the quarterstick..

:lala: :lala: :lala: :lala: Damn that's a nice car, and I'm not even a big fan of the '82-'84 birds, but the car is probably the best I've ever seen. Beautiful. Good luck with the engine/tranny swap

My 82 has been hit!
Hi All,
Many years ago when I was planning on installing a Tune Port 350 V8 into my 82 Firebird, I used to post etc on this board. That Tuned Port Injection 350 went in with no problem and has been perfroming great for almost 5 years.
My 82 was actrully cleaner or just as clean as the orginal poster to this thread. I have no rust what so ever. It was a great car to drive and had lots of quickness and great handing. The car was also my daily driver. 255,000 + miles.
Well on the way to work yesterday, a person in a Mini-Van ran a stop sign and ran into my Firebird. There is no glass breakage, and engine compartment is completly intact. The Major damage is the front right side of the vechicle. There insurance company wants to total my car, that will not happen. Today I had the car return to home and it is now my garage. The pass-door and front right side of the Firebird will have to be redone.
It may take awhile but my 82 Bird will sing her songs again!

Kinda like the Gumball races. They asked my car club if we wanted to enter anyone, but nobody wanted to drop the $7k plus shipping the car to the mainland and back (comes out to like $10k total). My dream once the Evo II is completed is to ship it all over the world. I want to run in comps like the Players Run or the Gumball 3000, but I would also like to take the car on real roadracing tracks and drift.

Grant security
Just an update to something posted here, the Grant security system has been on the car since 1997 and has worked great.. also made it really easy to put on the leather rimmed wheel when I redid the interior.. I highly recommend it I know my car has been scoped out a few times but never messed with when the wheel is off... broken into once but that was when I was stupid enough to forget the radio faceplate..
Yea the grant security system is great.. i hear some comments about my steering wheel everyonce in a while from co workers and stuff but its better than walking out side and my car not being there.. my car got broken into once i had the steering wheel off and the face plate off and both were in the car.. they took my face plate not the radio though they couldnt get it out of the dash they left the steering wheel though which i was glad about how do you explain that one yea.. i cant move my car b/c someone stole my steering wheel its a great investment though.. the guy i bought my car from put it on there i woudl advise everybody to do the same
