hey, what does everyone use to clean their engine compartment???? preferably the side walls

I worked for a detailer for awile. We degressed everything, scrubbed it down with a brush and soap/water and then powerwashed the crap out of it. After that we dried it and dressed it. Looked great. You can do it at home as well with a hose, it just requires a little more work with the brushing and that. Hope this helps.

I like to use some Engine Brite or Gunk, and some liquid laundry detergent works well too, a little bit in a spray bottle with water.

I use tuff-stuff, then soem 2001 and meguires gold class tire gel to coat the plastic/rubber and body
