What year did 4th Gen interiors switch from charcoal to black/ebony??

Well, Camaros had black leather seats in 96 while the 96 trans am had charcoal leather.

 

My seats are I think from a 2000 TA...or somewhere around there. But when I went to the dealer to get some seatbelts from a new camaro/transam.....they couldn't get ANY black. Closest they could find is charcoal. But let me tell you....it's black. Just a different name....at least for the seatbelts.
