chromed t-stat housing?????

ive sent a replacement one to pauls chrome......and they want well over a hundred bucks to chrome it. Sorry but i think that is way overpriced. Does anyone now where i can find one already chromed? I see them all the time on other cars...just a standard thermostat housing that sits on the intake manifold. Some other people might call it a "gooseneck".

will some of those work though? Mine looks kinda the same as a chevy one....only the neck on it is farther out. the metal hose part comes out of the housing, takes a sharp 90' curve then straight out bout 4 to 4&1/2 inches.

hmmm...not sure. Not sure. Maybe you could get a hose at a local auto shop that would work with a different housing. I would assume that it will bolt up to your engine. Not sure if there would be any problem there or not.

It's aluminum, and they look GREAT when they're polished.

This is the best pic I've got that shows my polished water neck:

Yes, your stock housing is aluminum, so you can polish it. The procedure is the same as when you polished your interior plastic pieces. Eastwood has a $20 kit that has the compounds and wheels that you'd need to buff brass and aluminum and it'll last you years. I sanded mine in a couple hours at work, then finished it on the wheel at home.

Also, Summit has some polished aluminum swivel waternecks but they may not work with a TPI motor. They run about $25.
