406-Z, what type of hood do you have? I am looking for an intake for my car now. I can't see that intake working too well on a stock hood or even a cowl hood for me! Most of the bays shown look great, and others, well... Nice ideas, all could be turned into a nice looking bay. Keep them coming!

I love how many of you all have reduced the clutter associated with thirdgen engine bays. My car probably has the fewest "dirt particles" of anyone...being that I completely went through every nook and cranny with a toothbrush oil and grease remover before painting/ceramic coating/powder coating everything. But as far as clutter, I'm just blown clear out of the water. Hat's off to LBSZ28BLOWN, IROCThe5.7L, and you others. :-) Having so many dang aftermarket wires running all over creation, it is dang near impossible to avoid the "snake effect." Here are some pics before the snake effect took action...

i had an idea that i thought would be really cool looking and i was wondering if any was tried it yet. take a carburated motor, put a blow-through cap on it like for a supercharger or something like that and putting the stock tpi air induction setup on it. i think i am going to try this when i get the big motor in

86IROCNJ & FyreLance....The hood is a Harwood 3" cowl. I glassed in the underside and cut a hole to mate to the air cleaner assembly when the hood is closed. It seales to the air cleaner assy. with closed cell foam that is on the underside of the hood. I fabricated the air cleaner assy. out of sheet metal. It represents many hours of fab work but it did gain me 2.5 to 3 mph in the quarter over the stock TPI air intake assy. It is a true functional cowl induction set up. I will post a pic of the underside of hood.

I just finished (literally) painting the engine bay of my 91 RS. How is your's coming along?
This was so much work, it makes $750 sound worth while.
Anywho, may not be the prettiest right now, but am working on it. After looking at some of the setups on this page, there is work to be done with mine. Good job to all posters!
Let me know:
a) if you ever sold "your" car on e-bay (ref. punk that stole your pictures to sell a car on e-bay)
b) you have engine bay painted yet.

gut it, clean everything, sand, sand, sand, clean it again polish it, polish it again, paint it. and be creative, experiment, dont be afraid to be different, make it unique, and you will stand out.

Where's the picture of "406TPI" or something similar? It's an all white bay with the tpi fins sanded down and custom smooth dizzy cover. Looks amazing.

Looks to me like it was just painted black...If you notice his whole engine compartment is painted black.. Back when my car was more stockish I even DYED my Coolant and washer fluid bottles because the white is too prone to discoloring...I dyed it black and it looked 1000 times better..

I got ya covered buddy. I snapped this at the Trans Am Nationals a couple weekends ago. I immediately recognized the car from GCFBA.

That looks absolutley amazing, the only thing i can suggest is to run your plug wires underneath your headers. Is that plenum stock and you just had it machined down? i like that look, really clean and custom !
