Polish or Wax
Hey Guys,
Over Spring Break I plan to really make my car shine. I have a quick question concerning polishing and waxing. Should I add more coats of Polish, or Wax to really make it Shine. I also have a mother's clay bar kit, that I will use first to really clean the paint. Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

SImple rules... polish is an abrasive intended to remove imperfections from the surface. Wax is to protect the shine after you use polish.
If you're clay bar-ing the car, use dish soap to wash the car (strips wax off), then clay bar, then polish, then wax.

Thanks for the info
Thanks for all the information. I will do exactly like you said. This should really make my car shine! :lala:
it might make it really shine . . . you failed to mention the brand of wax ure using . . .
heck, if all you want is shine, you can use pledge furniture polish on it . . .
(thats a joke, really - but it would shine though) until the dust stuck to it . .again.

The brand of wax
The brand of polish and wax I am using is Meguairs. I am using their gold class car wax. I have always got great results with their products. I have also got great results with mother's. For some reason I just prefer Meguairs.
