Where should I order my RAM-AIR II hood from in order to avoid defects?
I'm about to purchase my ram air II style hood.
I want to avoid the hood gap and warp issues that some RAII hoods have. I can't remember which places are which, so what is the best RAII style hood that I can buy that I won't have to work on for hours? Was Hawks the good one?

I know there's at least two different manufacturers of the Ram Air II hoods...
I think ASCD was the one people were reccommending though.
Are you happy with the hood? Any problems/defects/blemishes/misalignments?

ASCD makes a nice hood, you can either buy it direct or through Hawks (a little cheaper from hawks I think). There are at least two manufacturers of this hood (and several middlemen).

I was mainly sick of the hassle of working on an engine halfway under the dash, paying two to three times as much for parts as a third gen, and wanting to go faster. I really didn't want to start gutting the car, put in a rollbar, etc, or spend the $$ to build a blower motor, so I decided to sell it and go thirdgen. My TTTA project will cost less than I had in the SS (most of the performance parts, such as the 9" rear and McLeod clutch have been sold),and be much faster. Plus, the early SSs are fairly rare, and even I hate cutting up a numbered car. I put it back mostly stock. Also, its the third 4th gen I have had, all of them Camaros...I was ready for something different.
