I'd like to remove the "IROC-Z" door decals from my car..

Wondering how I should go about doing it..

Any chemical remover I should use? Razor blade? Tool?

I want to make sure I don't damage the paint behind it..

A friend took off the GFX stripes a few months ago, and used a powered eraser tool... it worked, but it was messy and we had to be really careful not to burn the paint.. so I'm lookin for an easier solution..

Thanks

i don't know about any of the other stuff, but if you don't want to hurt the paint, definately don't use a razor.

try a heat gun or a blow dryer to heat up the adhesive that the factory used and it should come off with the heat gun and a plastic like knife thingy.

Eraser. You can pic them up at autobody shops. The go on the end of a drill...and are GREAT for removing decals and pin stripes. There run about 15 bucks. Good Luck with what ever way you choose

Yeah, that's what my friend used to remove my GFX stripes..

Worked really good, but it was messy.. and we had to be careful not to push too hard, cuz those drills can leave marks..

Sounds like it's still the best way to do it

Usuallly when removing any kind of decals or pinstripes...it's a messy job..whether a heat gun..or an eraser. I always go over the area with some compund to get some of the "mars" out if any were left behind. The reason I like the eraser...is because if your not careful with a heat gun..the paint could get to hot and melt off..and with a razor blade...you could leave some pretty nasty scratches....even down to bate metal. The Eraser is pretty safe...just take your time and it should work fine. If your not able to get an eraser..I would try a heat gun.....it's safe...just be sure to take your time with that as well.
