Hatch Louvers, to use or not to use...

Hey guys,
I got a free set of unused hatch louvers for my purple 92rs. I layed them on the back to see what they look like, they look OK, but I dont know if it looks like its straight outta BILLYVILLE Kentucky, or if it has style. Can you guys give me your inputs on whether or not I should install them?

Rarely, you'll find ones that look good on there, but I would say no , leave em off, will look much better that way.

I'm with Mark... There are some cars that look good with them, and some that don't. I also would need a pic to determine what I think about 'em on your car.

I've seen one car that I liked with them. IMO, I'd leave them off and tint the window.

Personally, I like them because I think that black and yellow really contrast each other in a good way... Sorry for the crappy picture, need to get some new digi pics this year..

Cheers,

I found the car I was talking about, it is WickedCooL's car. For some reason, I like them on this car. This has been the only car I've seen that I've liked them on, I dunno what it is.

I don't like the 3 piece style like on Botlfeds yellow car, but I do like the one piece design like on the black car.

Oh, and I wouldn't just put them on any car. I don't think they'd look good on a purple car.

louvers are gross in my opinion, tinted is awesome but the louvers look straight out of trailerpark city, alabama (no offense to anyone from alabama, unless you are from trailerpark city )

i think they can be really cool, depending on the car......like the yellow car looked good with em....I think if u had a red or yellow car with all black rims, it would look pretty good.....in otherwords a solid color car with black rims and the hatch louver...i dont like them on black cars....also when i think of the hatch louver i think like early 80's...do they make it hard to see out of the back window?

I think they look good on black cars. Mine came with louvers out the factory, but someone took them off before I got it

Entirely up to you. Personally i dont like them just for the fact of when i washed a friend of mines car with him it was a pain in the rear to try and get all the dirt and stuff out with the louvers on. Up to you though.

i would have to agree with most people on this board, and go with no, but hey if you like them all the better to put them on.

Hey, everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if it is wrong! (j/k)

Cheers all..

Oh, btw, I like backing up in the dark with my louvers more than tinted windows.

My IROC came with them as well. I think they were painted body color, but I wasn't sure until I washed it. They were also the first thing I took off my car when I got it.

Very ugly and trash I would never use them on my car. I think they ruin a perfectly good third gen.

I actually like them. I think with the red car, and the lovered hood, they looked ok. The only time i didn't like them was when it snowed, rained, when leaves fell, or pollon season... and thats why i took them off. Damn things make the window a pain to clean. Though.. they were great when i was living in florida. I swear the sun down there just turns the car into an oven.

I have mixed feelings about these things. I had an 86 SC with them on and it looked ok but the rattles and squeaks made me take them off. Two of my friends had them on their cars one was a 91Z that they flew off and scratched the car all up and the other guy has them on his 89RS and he got the painted to match the car which I think looks really good since the car is purple. I guess it all depends on which type you have and how well they are going to hold up.
