Well...I was just browsing the magazine and they had a section on whats "in" and whats "out". Anybody else read that?
Well something for our egos:
Whats in: A third generation camaro/firebird done right.
Whats out: A third generation camaro in good shape for a reasonable price.
Maybe not quoted word for word but you get the picture. Been reading alot of stuff here about thirdgens being trashed in movies/tv shows. Just remember in fast n furious when they destoyed that [nova? charger?] at the end. If they trashed Pintos all the time it would be no fun and no one would care or watch.
Although trashing a blown Gremlin would be cool (if the driver survived).
But to end this I'd like to say that I'd mush rather see a Camaro/Firebird burn out in a blaze of glory flying of the edge of a cliff anyday rather than seeing one just fade away quietly!

Dont worry about the Charger. The one that got destroyed was a rust bucket POS with a macco paint job. No big loss.
Ideally, no fbody would get blown up or fade away quietly. In a perfect world, every 3rd gen would be "done right" or be a parts car.

My brother-in-law made me watch that movie, I like the fact that the "quarter-mile" they use to race in hs has a nice 50 foot jump at the end. We all want a 50foot jump when were going 105 right?!?
HAHA 80! the first race they have on the street, its more like 1.4miles... heheh i would LOVE a ramp at the end... and a train to come right behind me... but no sudden appering tractor trailor

I think its either in the new carcraft mag on stands now or the oe that was just pulled. SOrry I did not pay enough attention to the issue and page number. I was reading it in my camaro as I was flying through an open train boxcar after hitting a ramp going 100mph. It was all dukes of hazzard style.
Seriously....I think you could prob find it in the april or may issue 2003. It was not an entire article, just a little snippet. BUT, the issue out on stands now has a pretty cool 3-4 page article on thirdgen mods. And Pontiac hiperf mag has the same thing but dedicated more toward birds. Its really nothing that anyone whose been around here for a while doesn't already know, but its still neat to see it in print in a popular magazine.
And whats neater is that they make referrals to the 'guys at thirdgen.org' in many of the articles. We're nationwide baby!
I spend way too much time at the bookstore: it seems that more and more chevy magazines are dedicating more space to address thirdgen issues (lots of TPI and EFI stuff I've seen lately).
But I am still waiting for the day we see an 82-92 bird/maro on the cover.
Thanks for contributing to the humor, guys.....
