freeze, your rims look awesome, but you need to paint the insets, they will look so much better.

polishing centers

use the same 80/120/220/320 wet/400 wet then white rouge, then tripoli step to polish the center caps, you just have to sand thru the clear coat and things start looking good

There is a place in Fresno called Western Chrome that would polish all my wheels for about $370.00 every time my are gets sore and cramped I wonder why I just dont pay to have it done. It is hard but you definitly learn from it. I have notice the more you do it the easier it gets. You know how far you need to sand and what not. The hardest part for me was sanding the textured part of my rims enough so I could use the finer stuff to smooth it out. Another thing is not to be afraid to really put some elbow grease into it. If you are using air drills make sure to always keep it moving!!! You dont want to put any unescessary divets.

WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT USE A DREMEL FOR SANDING!!!! IF YOU PLAN TO DO THIS YOU HAVE TO USE THE TAPERED SANDING INSERTS!

Once I find a pic of it I will post it, I dont know the exact name of it

WWasem, What did you do to your wheels? I could be wrong but from the looks of it they seem totally stock with the clear coat still on them!

Sobody mentioned earlier that the rims started to look good once they sanded threw the clear! Dont waste your time sanding the clear. Go to a hardware store and by Paint and Epoxy remover! It takes the clear coat off in one shot!!! If you want you can go straight to polishing once you do that! The only reason I am sanding is to get the Triangular holes smoothed out! If it wasnt for that I would not even bother sanding anything!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first got the rims they looked like this:

With gray painted inserts, nasty fix a flat stuff on the inner side of them, and various scratches on them.

I then took them to a local wheel shop to have them refinished. They balanced the rims, one of them was bent I was told, and then painted them and clear coated them. They did an awesome job needless to say and I'm very pleased. I then also bought a set of 4 new center caps as well to add the finishing touch.

The rims look pretty good! The only trouble I am having is polishing and sanding the weird angles on the rim! Other than that my rims are coming out pretty good.............
