can i wax my car to much? my dad "thinks" i wax my car way to much, maybe twice a month sometimes with a few coats, is this to much? i dont think so but he thinks it will "take the finish right of the car" whatever he means by that i am clueless to.... but what do u guys think, today i was gonna do 3 coats, 1 meguirs cleaner, then 2 mirror glaze, but his biznitching kept me from the last two.. so tomorrow before i go to the car show i will have to get that done, what do you guys think?

 

I don't know about taking the finish off the car, but I don't think you are accomplishing anything more. A good coat of wax should last you a two months or more unless the weather is exremely harsh.

 

If anything wax helps the paint, keeps it from oxidizing.

But you may be waxing it too much. It wont hurt the car, but you sure are wasting your time.

 

Tell'em to shut it. You would have to wax your car day in and day out to hurt it. Last year I was waxing my Iroc once or twice a week.

 

I wax mine only about once a month cuz i HATE rain.... and it rains EVERY time i wax my car

 

Or try starts raining when im half done...like today
