I don't see the problem with giving out samples of car detailing products on this section of the forum, after all it is the detailing section. Why is t that Josh has to lock the threads. All I was doing was letting people know that the samples were finnally sent, big DEAL.

This is what happens when you give someone a little authority, IT GOES TO THERE HEAD. I have been giving out samples for a couple of years now with out a problem until they made Josh the moderator. Thanks to JOSH EVERYONE, Iwill no longer be giving out the samples or having fun testimonial contests, thaT i THINK MOST OF US ENJOYED.

If I had to rely on this forum to keep my biz running , I would have been out of biz along time ago. I do it for fun and to spread the word on a good product.

well i bought my f113 since i waited a month of my sample and nothing came,

hopefully it will be everything it comes out to be...

i think the reason they're locking it is because you're advertising your product without paying for advertising... but i appreciate you giving out free stuff.... even though i never got mine...

It would be rather expensive if I had to do both, the samples and the shipping are not cheap to do. The shipping was more then $5 for each sample pack, and then you got the cost of the products. I offer the chance to try the products for free. It has cost me over $2500 total in shipping cost and product cost, IT IS NOT FREE ADVERTISING.

Would someone send me a media kit for the third gen site, I would be interested in advertising on the site, but the free stuff would BE NO MORE. IT would most likely be cheaper for me to do that then give out the free samples.

Let me know if there is any other car wax/ polish company that gives out free samples like I have done! I bet you can't find one.

i feel for ya. in the end, it would be cheaper than giving away samples, which you have done. i applaude your efforts. yeah those samples + shipping are definitely not free but someone wants royalties....

 

If you wanted to put an ad in the newspaper advertising free samples, it would cost ya too, right? There are costs involved in running this site as well.

Don't you have an email address from folks that asked for a free sample? If so, just add them all to a group account and email them to notify them.

Its not a big deal, just won't do it any more. I thought I was doing a good thing. I like picking up new dealers and making a few bucks, but I did it because I believe that people would enjoy the products for there cars and I'm just a good hearted guy.

I could have been sneaky and PM people to see if they would like a free sample but I didn't. I just won't do them anymore. No other company gave away the samples, I believe in the products enough to do that. I was in Bowling Green last weekend for the Corvette forum cruise, I gave away 100's of samples, waxed atleast 10 Corvette's for FREE and gave away about 50 shirts.


Advertising in magazines is not the answer, slick marketing is not going to get many people to buy my forumla113, putting samples into the end users hands is the best way in my book.

I am not mad, I will just save my money and not do it here any more. To all the people who did not receive there samples, they are coming, just tell the board what you think, good or bad.

Enjoy the samples, there will be enough of both the forumla113 car wax and beadx detailer to do the whole car, maybe 2.

ill probably get put on probabtionf or sayng hti but, i dont like the joshguy, he is locking alot of post that usuallywould have gtten locked, i think this forum has more locked threads than any other. He locked the Trans-am/Formula poll thread cause he thought they would start fighting for which is better. i saw no intentions of them doing that. I fully stand behind the TECH ONLY thing of this website, i enjoy it more (i come here for atleast 2 hours a day (school is boring) it is much easier to find useful topics than on a non tech only site, but some times u need some general knowledge from some other people that u wouldnt find as easy else where. Also i see some threads that i thing, "why isnt this locked?" then some ill go to post a reply in and its closed and i cant see why it is.

However, Michael what you have done is very generous, I would never have bothered to try the stuff if it weren't free, since it's not sold in stores.

But don't give up just because of locked posts. Josh is only doing what he is supposed to. It's not up to him, he just has to follow the rules.

If I were you, I would PM Brad and get the ok from him to make your usual posts. I think it should be allowed, as it is a great way for you to spread the word by making posts. However, there are a lot of people on this site that love F113, so I think you don't have to do too much more marketing here, heck I recommend it all the time.

Just don't bash a mod in a public setting for doing what he think needs to be done.

 

I hope I get mine soon..I have been waiting a month also.....I was going to order and pay for the sample pack but was told by a girl named Catherine that the sample pack was on them but have been waiting a month now...the last email I recieved was on the 13th stating that sample pack are shipped out each week...

Before you go blaming Josh for having some huge ego because he is a mod, why don't you PM a mod and find out who locked your thread and why.

It was not Josh who locked it, I did. Why? Because it doesn't belong here and there is no reason for anyone to respond to it. Like 91-RED-WS6 said, you could have just sent the samples and emailed everyone. OR just sent them. They'll find out they were sent in 3-5 days when the recieve them. No one else needs to know, or cares, that they were sent.

And to everyone else who may read this- if we lock your post and you don't know why, DON'T make a new thread about it. The rest of the board does not have to get involved. PM us and we can talk about it.

89cmrodriver- Josh was right for locking the Trans Am vs. Formula thread. We've had threads similar to that before (Camaro vs. Firebird) and we've seen where they have led. To prevent a flame war, it was locked. The reason this forum has so many locked threads is not because Josh and I are out to lock everything. It is because this board has been basically unmoderated for too long. If people had garbage to post, they would come to this forum to post it cause it never got locked. That is what we are here to change. If you want a general forum- this is not the site for you. If you feel the need to discuss sports- go to a sports forum or chat room. If you want to discuss love- go to a love chat. This is the internet. There are billions of websites and tons of message boards and chat rooms. You can literally find one for anything. And if you read a post that you think needs to be locked, click the "Report this post to a moderator" link on the bottom right of the post and we will look at it. Its hard to catch everything.

Michael- I love your product, I use it on my IROC and it has been the only thing I've used to take away my swirl marks. But your business practices are not the greatest. You always have an excuse for why samples are late and then you start telling us all that we are so lucky that you give out free samples. Let me count my lucky stars. The free samples were over done. It seems like you're trying to get rid of the stuff cause no one will buy it. You have confidence in your product, so sell it and you should do fine. Its good stuff. Free samples are fine, but this is not your own personal advertising space. If you would change the way to post and carry yourself on the boards, you wouldn't need free samples. But honestly- if I hadn't gotten a free sample that worked so well, I would NEVER have bought the stuff just cause of the way you conduct yourself on these and other message boards.. so maybe you should keep giving it away.
