How do U take out da hood grills on a TA?

Does anyone know how to take out the hood grills on a TA without breaking them? I want to paint them black so it will stand out on my white 85 TA. I am trying to get a blackout or smoke look.

If I recall there are some screws or bolts holding them in from the inside of the hood, not that easy to remove.
Not 100% sure

If I'm not mistaken (since it been seemingly forever since I've even touched my hood), the 2 front grilles are held in place by two 10 ot 13mm (each grille) thread cutting nuts from the underside. The hood reinforcment (underside, hood open of course) has openings corresponding to the grilles that you can get a socket in. Back the nuts off and pop the grilles out. I'd go check but at the moment it's not in my best intrest to go moving stuff and the hood to access the underside of it.
The rear extractors (at least mine) are just held in place with clips that pop in/out by prying on them.
