doing my wheels
doing my wheels
i'm not sure if this belongs here or not, but here goes.
I'm about to strip the gold paint off of my Z/28 wheels with aircraft remover. is it ok to leave the tires on or should i have them dismounted? will that paint stripper do anything to my tires? please let me know.
thanks in advance
John

I did not have any problems with mine. I did wipe the tire with a wet rag right after I sprayed the wheel though. I seem to remember someone saying that they didn't clean it off though and left the tire out in the sun. They said it bubbled up and exploded. It souded like a tall tale to me, but I made sure not to let it sit on the tires and nothing happened.

When I did mine, the aircraft remover got on the tire. I polished the rim in the sun, and nothing ever happened to my tire.
