new hood install pics

alright, can't figure out what to do. my hood fits 1/4 in. short of where it needs to be (in the front) but it's slid all the way forward already. in the below pic, i was gonna just drill the oval screw holes 1/4 in. longer and it'd be all cool, but the top screw hole doesn't have 1/4 in. of metal to drill......how can i pull the hood out farther??

look where the hood hinge assyemble bolts to the fender area. there should be like 2 or 3 bolts there. try and get the 1/4'' of room you need from there. try that and get back to us

i didn't read your post until after i had fixed it myself. i just drilled the 4 screw holes 1/4 in. longer. the 2 top holes i just drilled all the way to the end, so they became slots instead of holes. i need to drill it a little farther tommorow cause it's not quite perfect yet. i'll mod it a little more tommorow to get it perfect...but here it is as of now....:lala: :lala: :lala: :lala: :lala:

oh by the way, i transferred the hood latch stuff to the new hood, but the metal bar latch (not the latch that you manually pull up under the hood, but the one that is unlatched when you pull the lever under the hood) doesn't go down far enough to lock. the hood still stays down, cause the lever you have to manually pull up is still locked in, but you can pull the hood up like 4 in. before it stops. so anyway....i guess i'll just buy some washers tommorow to put under the bolts so the latch will extend down another 1/4 in. or so.....keep ya posted

also...anyone else w/ an aftermarket hood got a problem with their wipers hittin the top of the cowl?

the latch with the cable is adjustable up and down. the two bolts that hold it to the car are on tracks.

ohh ok, i thought you meant the hood brackets (near the windshield) were adjustable, and i didn't see any way that they could be. so you're saying the hood latch (that the s-shaped bar on the bottom of the hood latches into) moves up and down? that'll be much easier than buying longer screws and a couple washers to get the s-latch to hang down lower....thanks
