plastic wheel well guards
on my 89' GTA and on my sisters 88' Iroc Z we have these plastic guards that attach to the fender by this little buttons or clips.
some of mine have snapped so the plastic sags on some areas. eventually if they all bust then they'll grind the tires.
I looked at mine and where it's supposed to hold onto the fender it's been ripped right out.
it doesn't look fixable to me. looks like a fender replacement because of a stupid little plastic piece.
anyone have the same problem?
thanks.

On Camaros, these inner fender plastic pieces are removeable, and certainly replaceable. Hit the bone yards. You should be able to pick up a set for a song. By the way, the outer plastic fasteners are reuseable. Insert a flat-bladded screw driver under the lip and pry upward. The stem will release and the fastener will pop out. A little WD-40 will help. There are several scews/bolts on the inner side.

alright thanks I'll take a better look.
I just have a feeling that one of them is ripped clean out where it's supposed to hold on to.
I'll got check to make sure though.

My plastic mud guards on my 91 RS are shot. My car is lowered and the tires rub pretty bad on these things. At one point the guards were hanging on there for dear life. I had to buy new snap rivets to reattach them. Good luck searching in the salvage yards.

You can get those push clips for the fenders at Auto Zone. They are nomrally on a small spin rack near the nuts and bolts. Bring an old one so you can match up the diameter. I think they come it boxes of 6 or 10.

Theres not enough fender on my firebird left for the push clips. I just have 3-4 screws that attach to the wheel well. I assume they were all stock because they are in the same places on both sides. If you are just missing a few clips, don't panic, they are fairly cheap and nothing is going to break until they all fall out along with 2-3 screws. I sure wish i could put my clips back in. Pieces of fender came off with them
