My son and I have been working on a nice project for him for the last couple of years. To make a long story short, the diff gave out in our 90 IROC. So we found a complete 4th Gen axle from a 2000. It worked great and bolted right up, but I never liked how much the wheels extruded from the wheel wells on the rear! So I found another 3rd Gen axle. It was previously a drum brake axle, so I modified it to accept discs. We had it blasted and powder coated. Used the torsion diff. from the 4th Gen, new 3.73 gears, 28 spline axles, bearings etc. Kept the 4th Gen backing plates and calipers.
Now it looks stock and I love the 3.73s. Also upgraded the trailing arms and pan hard bar.
