Cahall Performance Transmision

Thought Id throw this out there since I talked to him earlier in the day. Have my 421 stroker comming soon and I need a tranny. Expecting 600hp at the crank and its set up for 200 nos. So finding a tranny that will hold together is a tall order. Esp a 700r4. Looking into his background and alot of trannys he has done for the impala ss crowd with the simaler 4l60e Im basically sold on his trannys. 4000+lb cars clicking off 9 sec ets is enough for me to make a decision he makes a bullitproof unit. Here is his site:

Click the customer link for the ets. Price is way better than others. Answered all my questions. Another option for anyone looking for a 700r4.

Re: Cahall Performance Transmision

We did not agree on much of anything, but he seems to be building some pretty good units from what reviews I have seen. I have not heard of anything about him building a 700R4. Some of the top builders I know will build the 4L60E to hold some horsepower, but will not build a 700R4 with anything putting out some good power. 800FWHP is asking a lot out of these units. It can be done with the right parts and not spending a whole lot of money. I know what I would charge for building one of these units to hold the horsepower you are wanting to achieve here. You will have to see what he says and how much.

The prices are listed on the site. Pro race which is the one Im looking at is 100 cheaper than the 4l60e version, he recommended this package, plus just a billet shaft upgrade. For my level I was quoted from 2800-4500 from numerous shops, I wont mention. Almost all those low 10 and 9 sec impalas are a testament to the tranny. Weight is a big factor. And those cars weigh alot more than a 3rd gen. 1.3-1.4 short times in a 4000lb + car is alot of strain on a drivetrain. After a lengthy conversation coupled with the results Ive seen Im very confident he has this tranny nailed down in terms of durability with what Im going to throw at it. I need piece of mind considering all the money into this motor. I dont want to worry about a tranny exploding or slipping or having to be pulled out after 5000 street miles. My drivetrain driveshaft back is overbuilt. I like it that way. Now I want the tranny to complete the whole package.
