91-92 birds - what headlights do you use?

I noticed that if i fill in the turn signal area on my on my 87 bumper, I can't get the light out without taking the bumper off. The filled in bumper takes covers up 2" of the headlights.

I know the 91-92 lights are smaller.

my left headlight motor is now shot. Should I get a pair of 91-92 Firebird headlight assemblies or try and covert my existing ones to a smaller light?

Devian: I found out while doing my conversion that I had to swap to the 91-92 assemblies or the lights hit the 91 bumper cover.

When I switched them over, I looked closely to see how they were different. I was originally just going to switch the metal "doors" because I thought they were shorter, but that wasn't the case, they have the same exterior dimensions as my original 83 lights did. Plus, I found out that the headlight doors have different mounting points for the headlight bracketry so I couldn't have done it anyway.

The whole thing is different, albeit just a little bit. I'd recommend getting 91-92 lights if you're swapping on a 91-92 bumper or customizing your existing bumper to fill in the recesses. Good luck.
