i was thinkin of not puttin louvers back in but paintin the area black just like the head light pockets, kinda gives it an older muscle car appeal without the hassle of the plastic louvers. btw thanks chris for the photoshop.

Looks sweet, never was too fond of the plastic louvers.

Maybe cut small holes and make them functional?

i was hopin that itd be like the 82-84 style but the back of the recess doesnt allow enough room to do so. if i got real crafty with some sheet metal and a welder i could probably fit in a peice at an angle, weld it in, do soem grindin and add some filler, then cut out a section of it.

I don't think it will look too bad if you fill in the holes.

It'll be a lot easier when you dry your car- I hate how the louvers always seem to have some extra water hiding under there that seeps out when you start driving it.

I like the louvers and think you should keep them, but if you like the look of the early hood just get it. Maybe hook it up to open when you give it throttle as some of them did stock, it'll look cool even if it's not functional much.

I say go for it.

The louvers do suck after you washed your car, that irritates the crap outta me when it all drips down the nose.

You could fabricate working louvers, that open and close like blinds, except they would connect to your manifold and run off your engine vacuum...or you could have some linkage that you pull/push to open and close them, or you could try and attach it to your throttle cable....I'm going to try the vacuum method sometime...

I like it without the louvers. I think it would look nice just black.
