Original Wheel Locks for 82 Firebird.

When I bought my 82 Firebird it had what looked to be original wheel locks. I of course didn't get any key for them so I had to drill them out. I have been looking for similar ones since but can't get anything. I woiuld like the car to look as original as possible. The original locks had a key and by key I mean like a door or igitation key that fitted into the locks. All I have been able to get is locks with a hex or star design on the top of them for opening. I suspect that theses GM locks are long gone but just to ask has anyone out there come across what I am looking for.

Any help appriecated.

As far as I know GM never used a wheel lock as you describe.

Thanks for getting back to me. I thought the wheel locks were original as they looked like they were on the car for a long time. So is the hex or star head wheel lock standard on the Firebird/Camaro range?.

Those are the correct ones, but they were optional.

They were a option and were made by McGard I belive and they were a usless item. If someone wanted your wheels they got them, I know and the locks didn't stop them.

Thanks for your input. I will have a look for a set of good aftermarket wheel locks. Can anyone recomend a good brand?
