Powdercoating?

Can you powdercoat aluminum blackets? like the one for the smog pump and alt? or even the top of the intake manifold?

Any Thing that can take the 400deg cure temp can be powercoated. Basically powdercoating is like high temp painting with out the solvents, instead it uses the temp to flow out the pigment.

I know that, i've had several things powdercoated. You missed the humor in it, think about it for a second most of us dont have a powdercoat gun and extra oven in our tool boxes.

Yeah I was wondering if it was possibe to powder coat my Weiand X-CELerator intake or not. Along with the brackets
for things.

How about anodizing/powdercoating chrome, is that possible?

Sounds like you got the better deal. I just bought a new stove so instead of getting rid of it, I put it to use.

Never seen an annodize thats similar to chrome, they have "almost chrome" powdercoat that you might want to take a look at.

Translucent red valve cover. These are, by far, my favorite colors to coat things. My original TPI unit will be this color when it goes up for sale, as will my LT1 intake once it's been modified to fit the older block. BTW, less than $300 to invest in the whole system, including garage wiring (for 240V), buying an oven, and the gun with the first round of powder colors. I've made that money back and then some!

Is it possible to powder coat a polished part clear? And not loose any of the shine? When I get a LT4 or LT1 in my 82 I'm going to polish about everything under the hood, and just wanna know ahead of time.

Damm that looks awesome polished.

You can powdercoat polished work yes. I dono how much luster it will loose. Do you have something small to ship my way I'll coat it for free and we can see how it comes out.

id personally use ZOOP SEAL on polished stuff

We've done some coating of polished work. From straight ahead view it looks perfect, but from increased angle views it starts to lose it's luster the father you get away from a straight view. For engine parts it looks fine though, especially for things like intakes that have many surface changes. Just don't do any large flat polished surfaces and you'll be fine TPI383. Also, don't over-bake it! The clear turns a slight yellow tinge, which then costs hours of stripping and recoating.
