clear coating after polishing rims ?

clear coating after polishing rims ?
does anyone re-clear coat their rims after polishing them to protect them ? or just keep cleaning them so that they dont get corroded ?

Polishing your wheels
I made a post with a few helpful links in it that you might want to check out. Most people don't reclear coat them because that defeats the prupose of polishing them.

I didn't use any kits, I just bought the compounds and buffing wheels. It worked very well. I need some more buffs and I'm gonna do all my wheels again and paint them (since I have the car in the garage for the winter)
