Does anyone know if it is possible to powdercoat just the insides of these wheels/ I was gonna just paint them back to greyish charcoal but I was thinking having them powdercoated would be sweet

Those look great. I hope to finish my polishing this winter now that I have buffing wheels and compounds.

Well I got the aircraft remover from autozone. applied it to everything cause i was gonna repaint the insides and needed the clear coat off from the factory. I then sanded down with 80 or 100 grit(i forget) the inner painted areas, sanded the actual bare alumium with 320 dry, then 400 wet. After the sanding was done I buffed it with my 4 inch wheels and brown compoumd on my die grinder and then buffed it finally with white rouge.
Remember, sanding is the Hardest, most tasking, longest part of polishing. For me it takes me about 2 hours to completly sand a wheel and about 20 mins to buff it out. Without sanding properly buffing does nothing.
Need to learn how to buff aluminum or anything? www.caswellplating.com (i think...) awesome product and business. dealt with them for years now no problems.
It takes a long time to buff a set of wheels so make sure you do it over a long period of time. A wheel a weekend at least for me.

Almost forgot, 85SportCoupeto89RS, is very good at polishing. Ive been messing around with this stuff for years and he has amazed me with the detail in his parts. awesome work man!:hail: :hail:

Novass has done what I want to do with the Formula rims that I have in storage. Nice job.
I might try to stip mine later this year and then have the outsides chromed and the insides black. "Pontiac" will be in red.

Hey guys i been workin on my wheels and they just arent gettin as shiney as i like. I used the east wood kit is there nething else i need to do i still see some fine scrathes and i went over it real good till 400 wet. Then buffed like it said. Should i try using some rubbing compund then some finishing glaze?

Well 400 wet might be too much. try like 320 dry and them buff it out tripoli(brown) compound. Sometimes the cloudiness can come from too fine a grit used.

I sanded dry with 320 then used the Spiral sewn cotton wheel with the brown tripoli compound, then I used the loose cotton wheel aith the white rouge.

Thats why I'm just gonna bead blast my wheels and have them powder coated in mirror silver.
It seems like too big a pain in the **** to polish them!
I have a blast cabinet with fine glass bead media. Will this take off the clear coat fairly easy? Or should I still use aircraft paint stripper on them?
