Yes i know that car ive seen it many times and know the guy who painted it. All it is is a rs that is really clean with a paint job n rims stock everywhere else. The engine compartment is really clean but i think they could of payed alot more attention to detail on somethings.

Looks pretty neat! Theres a celica (gag) around campus here that has sorta the same thing with black and silver top. I think it would look alot better if there was some sort of transition into the orange in the front bumper, instead if it just starting at the base of the hood.

I like the grey sided one better! I doubt Kandied would do this since he seems to like shy paint alot. But i think it would look really neat if you did a non glossy gunmetal grey side and then the red on top with a nice transition into it occuring on the front bumper. And then some big ol shiny rims on it. Kinda like you might see on some hot rods with flat paint and glossy flames. If your going with hood scabs I would paint those the same as the hood tho, i dont care too much for the different colored ones. Oh yea and I would def shave the handles and take off the side molding, it seems to clash with the transition line in the paint.
Edit, oh yea those are American Eagle 212's they look nice and there pretty cheap too.

I just remembered what that reminds me of! Super Chevy did a give away car about 4 years ago called the silver streak camaro. It was silver with a purple top. The lines on the side came down to a point on the front bumber like a v and there were 4 or 5 1in wide white stripes going down the center of the car. Ive got the mag at my rents house. I searched high and low for pics on the web but no dice!

heavily considering it. i agree that the flat black on some cars looks nice, i wouldn't want it personally on my own though. that doesn't look to bad. it would be much easier to do the black on the top but i think the black or a dark grey on the bottom like that looks better. would hold up nicer to chips and wear too......

definately an idea.

Wow!
That is extremely beautiful. Ive started considering paint jobs as the suspension and drivetrain will be done soon and i would like to paint it before moving on to the engine. I originally had been considering something closer to the old school iroc look with the black stripe above the gfx, below the decals (hope that makes sense, feel free to add a visual anyone). This look however, blows me away!!! Definately keepin the red/black colors but since I have black ZR1's, I wonder which version of the schemes u posted would look best. I know most dont like the black ZR1's , but with this color scheme, I think it would change the look dramatically. Tpiroc or Kandied, throw out a ball park (prolly more like coliseum) figure for something like this to be accomplished. Thanks, Efrain.
P.S.- :hail: :hail: :hail:

First time I have seen that, or that scheme. I am very, very, very partial to the solid colors, and if any decals, stripes or flames - ghosted.

I wonder how it would looke if the top were a purple fading to silver.

I have always liked the two-tone paint jobs like this, and was actually thinking about this exact color scheme awhile ago. I like the charcoal bottom half and red top, and it would match my interior. I started liking these types of paint jobs after seeing project silverstreak and a couple of Chip Foose street rods, which had amazing two-tone paint jobs.

depending on colors and your needed body work along with how indepth you got as far as the jambs, engine bay and taking apart the car i'd say 3-4,000 to do a really nice job in two stage or solid colors. to completely dis-assemble the car and do it to a show winning stage anywhere from 3500-5,000 would be a real safe bet. if you just want the outside to look nice 2-3,000.

i think if your going to run black wheels you would want the lighter color on the bottom. it would look 100% better. however if you ran billet or chrome the darker looks better.

I think a dark top/light bottom with dark wheels would make it stick out like a sore thumb
