To run 4th gen wheels on a 3rd gen. I have heard several different opinions, so if any of you guys that are running 4th gen wheels can help me out I would appreciate it. 
Looking at 17x9 and 9.5's if that helps.

It's not exactly something you want to cheap out on. Get the best you can. I got my 2" adapters from Skulte. A great part and his service is great, too.
