you like hold the brake pedal in and then press the gas down.Unless you have a motor with some real power then you just mash the gas pedal down, but the majority are just using the first method.:lala:

Yeah that pic of my RS was taken when it had an L03. Just hold the brake enough to keep the car from moving and floor it. Hopefully when the next motor is in the car (carb'd 350) I'll be able to just punch it ...

i start in 1st then go to 2nd... 2nd makes a ton more smoke:lala:
could have gone to 3rd and stayed there but i was only 1/2 to 3/4 throttle... so it kept downshifting to 2nd...
aftermath

Ok, here is a silly question (especially in a post like this).. what on earth is a burn out supposed to prove??? It's hard on the drivetrain, shreads the life out of your tires. Vertially any car can do it. The only place I can see a burn out being of any value is at a drag strip to gain some traction from hot sticky tires.
But to stay on your topic here is one for ya.. lol

sure on street tires a burnout is useless, but it proves one thing.... you got torque
when my bird was running i found it useful as a stress reliever, and a way to mark some territory
theres seriously nothing better then hearing your engine screamin, tire schreechin, and inhalin the sweet smell of burnt rubber then letting off the brake... its like taking the leash off of a dog ready to run Threads like this just make me jumpy......:lala: :lala:
I can't wait to resume doing burnouts......
I just think they are incredibly fun, and nothing marks the terriority of the golf course parking lot like a slew of black marks all over it........
Just something about hearing all that screeching and smoke billowing out the wheel wells gives me an adrenaline rush.....
Then again with the old LO3, I could only see smoke on one side......
......can't wait to do a burnout properly......

That white early 2nd gen Formula in the back ground looks tough.
It makes me wish that I had my '73 formula running.

they are BART Racing Wheels ralley wheels. i hate the way they look but it's my dad's car so...i don't really have a whole lot of say. i know he wants to eventually put a set of AR Torque Thrust D's on it.
I don't mind 'em, I like the look of steel rims on older ('50s, '60s, '70s) stuff mostly. But I agree some times steel rims can look out of place or crappy it all depends on the rest of the car I guess. If your dads car is mostly used for a drag car than steelies are cool.
P.S. What does the white formula in the background run?
