I have searched and searched, and have found plenty about polishing, but nothing about shining/buffing up the stock CLEAR COATED 16x8 wheels on the 91-92 RS/Z28. I have a set of 4 stock wheels for my 1992 RS that are still mint with the clear coat. They have sat in a garage for years and were only on the car one summer. What can I/should I use to clean and polish these clear coated wheels without scratching or removing the clear coat?

uhmm wheel cleaner? if the clear is still good you can just treat it like paint.... Ive actually used metal polish to get some of them nastyness off tho and it doesn't seem to hurt the clear

if it really is in good shape, just like above and use paint products.

Ok, of course I was going to use wheel cleaner! I use the ZR1 Eagle for coated aluminum. I was just told not to use metal polish, or it would start the clear coat cracking and comming off. Maybe, plain old mothers wax will do, ya think?

alot of it comes down to trial and error as no one person can say without seeing them in person....

if they are mint like you say some light grade buffing polish say a stage 8 (i think it's stage 8, the finest grade polish) meguiars and a nice carnuba protectant will work nicely.
