2nd set looks cheap to me.

...but I don't much like the 1st set. Maybe if they matched the car a little better and didn't look like they were cut and pasted they would look better. I dunno which I would pick out of those two though.

Those first rims look very similar to a guy's rims who using these boards, 87gtarunner I beleive. He has new ones now but he old ones are just like those I believe. He should be able to get you some good pics. He's also a moderator at Fbodytech.com.

Just curious - do you have any completed projects after your furry headliner/doorpanel pieces? I've seen you post so many "ideas" and claim to be doing them soon...I'm just waiting to see any of them come to pass. Just curious...

btw - I look the firehawk wheels better.

Those eagle alloys are supposed to look like Saleen Mustang rims. I don't really like them, there's too many mustangs sportin them.

don't really like the eagle alloys, they just look cheep to me. the Firehawks are nice but get something that doesn't need spacers. will be a lot easier in the long run. just my opinion.

As long as whatever wheel you chose doesn't have any fur on it, I'm OK!

yeah i was thinking about the spacer thing. I'm gonna forget my old engine ideas and just keep my current and go witha nice supercharger. I can get 388HP out of my completely stock 305 with a ATI procharger for only $3555.95. Then if i get some headers and stuff, ah man too much horsepower. So them wheels adapter might just not do the job right. I heard they arn't as strong for rotational force, is this true? I might just get me them nice ZR-1 rims that fit our cars, they seem really nice.....

If your getting that kind of HP you might want to go with a 9 inch wide rims for the back instead of 8.

then what rims work for our cars without spacers that are 9 in wide? I want thin 5 spoke rims, as thick as ZR1's no bigger.

dont need bigger rim shane.
thats just to help plant the power.
less thick less weight less weight less rotating mass.

MORE TIRE SPINNING , SMOKEY ASSED BURN OUTS!!!!!!!!!!

there are lots of 9' wheels that don't need adapters. check out my ROH rims forsale in my sig. I am going with 18s instead of 17 when I sell them. There is a guy that has them on a rustang around here too, they look sweet!

Don't get me wrong, everyone has different tastes, and that's a good thing. You have to do what YOU want.

Shane, you're 16, right? I was 16 in 1991. I remember all the BRAND NEW Irocs of the eighties. I remember the GTA's. I remeber the Firehawk rumors, and I still have the Motor Trend where they tested it. I went with my dad to see a 92 Heritage edition Z28 at Ayers Chevrolet back in Jersey where I grew up. To me, a Thirdgen is MY GENERATION!!! I loved 'em as soon as I could tell the difference!

Next you go to a big car show, do some people watching. Look for a tricked out fully modded Pro-touring first gen Camaro dressed to the nines. Maybe a custom engine...hand crafted glass hood...suspension slammed to the weeds, and of course killer paint. There's sure to be crowd pointing out each and every little detail. Now look for a bone stock 67 Z28. Undoubtedly there will be two or three guys just standing back looking at it not saying anything. It's because there looking at the car, but thinking about the 67 Z28 that they USED to have. I'm not kidding, someone once pointed that out to me and now I see it at EVERY show. It's that ability to conjure up memories.

When my car is cleaned up for the summer, I get compliments all the time. Almost everytime, someone mentions how clean and original it looks. Now stock isn't for everyone, to be sure, but don't do wheels just for the sake of getting wheels. There's a lot to be said for clean original lines.....AND wheels.

Cool wheels are the hot ticket, and that's cool. If I had another Thirdgen, it'd get some TT2's....but you asked what I meant, so you got a LONG drawn out answer.

actauly thats a pretty cool answer. I think that why your my favorite modertor. Your the most normal and polite. ede wants me outta here, but you treat me like i'm, i dunno, different then everyone else. That answer really chnage dmy mine of getting newwheels. Maybe i should just polish mine up. I dunno, maybe some GTA wheels will still leave it at the orginal look. But they are almost as expensive and the new ones i want. Can get a set of good ones for $400.

Thanks man,

Shane

aww jeez man, I think I'm gonna cry.

J/K

Thanks though, I'm always glad to be able to help, rather than be rude....although sometimes it's necessary for Mods to be cranky...that's what we where chosen to do. I'm not sure what you and Ede have going on, but it's not really my business, and it's between you guys.

As for the wheels, I'm not against changing them, I just like to mention that leaving the stock wheels is a cool option that should be considered. If ya decide that you still want aftermarket wheels....that's cool. You can still keep the old ones!

....I don't have my car posted anywhere, but here's a pic.

I think it looks good as-is. But I'm not picky. As long as its not multi-colored (in a bad way) or rusting out, i tend to think cars look good. Looks better'n my car, I must say though.

actually i think i migth just go with those ZR-1s, this is what they really look like,

They look very shiny and just what i am looking for. They are, however, 8 inches wide but i can still fit a 275 on there. I know i can.

I say go with the ZR1's ....17's though, right?

My car has 160 thousand mile. Yes that's beechwood, although you can tell the headliners not in for that picture....but it's in now. The red/gold combo is original. I've searched high and low for YEARS, and I've only found one other 88-90 Iroc with that combo. It's in the 89 Camaro sales brochure. Technically I suppose it's possible that photographed my very car and then sold it, but I doubt it. I like to think there's at least ONE other one out there.
