Re: Purdiest 3rdGen I've ever seen!

Looking at your flickr album...Where'd you get the 2 dual gauge pods, on the passenger side? Are those just a-pillar pods, trimmed to fit the flat mounting spot, and hung there?
And, is that a red Start Button?

Fatal88's car is insane, having seen it in person many times, I can attest to that car's complete awesomeness. The owner's (Tim and Teri) are a couple of pretty cool people too. I wonder if they will be at our gathering this week?
Anyway

I love yellow!
I wanna paint my GTA yellow, but I'd wanna do it RIGHT, and pull EVERYTHING (motor, trans, interior) and do a COMPLETE color change.

I feel the same way about the color change issue too. I was all set to paint my floor and everything when I had the interior out of the '92, but then I realized there wasn't much point since I was covering the entire thing with FatMat (DynaMat stuff). So I settled for just the engine bay and door jams, and didn't bother with the interior :P

A few questions:
- are those z06 size wheels/tires? what size spacers did you use?
- what gas filler door is that? I love how it matches the wheels
- what intake is that? Are those Locar cables?

The wipers were ditched because it made the firewall not look pretty. Simple as that. The guy who owned the vehicle daily drove it also, rain or shine.
----------
For all intents and purposes, the car is actually more 4th gen than 3rd gen. The whole front end of the car from about half way in the main compartment to the front of the car is all 4th gen. All of the interior mounts, engine bay mounts and fasteners are 100% 4th gen and bolt up perfectly. All interior equipment from the fog light switches, to the HVAC, and even the steering wheel stereo controls are 100% functional also.

I saw it when it was still TPI, and the inner fenders have flames to match the body. Dunno why he didn't put the flames on the inner panels this time.

Thanks for compliments guys !
The gauge pods are aftermarket units that I modified to fit.
Questions:
- are those z06 size wheels/tires? what size spacers did you use?
The wheels are 20x10.5 and 19x9.5 with 2.5" spacers (if I remember correctly) had to modify the rear wheel tubs and coil pockets to fit the rubber 285/30/20
- what gas filler door is that? I love how it matches the wheels
The gas door is a Mustang Bullit unit that I modified to fit
- what intake is that? Are those Locar cables?
Intake is Holley Pro Dominator base, everything else I custom built from there. Yes, I used a Lokar cable and TPI mount for the throttle cable.

[QUOTE=89RsPower!;3577079] Could say that, but I know it is feasible here in Houston. I didn't have wipers for almost a year in my old Camaro. Hardly found time to use it.

Re: Purdiest 3rdGen I've ever seen!
Boyd was a true hot rodder and he built some great cars in his day and the hot rod community should honor him for his acomplishments but lets be honest ppl he was pretty much an A hole....Ask Chip Foose or Jesse James...If Boyd was real smart he wouldnt have let that talent get outta his shop. Boyd had a Tv show (if you could call it that) but look at where Chip and Jesse are now...I dont see Boyd shirts for sale in Wal-Mart. Not to knock the dead Im sure Boyd had redeeming qualites and he will be missed and like I said the hot rod community should honor his accomplishments and we have lost some one who at one time was a great innovator

Many GORGEOUS cars in this thread! Props to everyone who has worked long and hard to make their cars something to be proud of!
I started with this almost exactly 1 year ago (after losing my '84 T/A to a failed Russell brake hose):

Here's how she looks today:

Keep up the awesome work everyone!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you very much! The color is a GM color "Sunset Orange Metallic" It's been available (with a few variations on the name) on several GM vehicles. Probably most notably the last couple model years of the Camaro and Firebird had "SOM" as a color option.
