Hey guys im new.......ive been visiting the board for a long time though.

I was wondering if you guys could show me some pics of paint jobs with ss hoods. Im getting my car painted in a few weeks and need to get a few ideas on what I want. I'll be adding a SS hood so I wanted to do something that would compliment the hood, so I was thinking either stripes or maybe just painting the ss scoop a solide color. If you guys have some pics that would help me decide that would be great.

Im going with the stock Silver/Gray(base) color that came on the stock irocs with the red/burgundy iroc z decal down the door. So im really leaning toward painting just the scoop(top and sides, not front and back of the scoop) the same red/burgundy color. My interior is also red/burgundy so im kinda limited to a hand full of colors to keep everything flowing inside and out. I'll also be adding some Boyd Coddington "Nemesis" 18" wheels to give you guys a mental picture of the car.

use the search button, i think their have been quite a few posts about the hood, what looks good is to do a color on the ss raised part .

 

i'd say either paint the hood scoop a different color, or get 4th gen SS style stipes painted on that follow the contour of the hood...i have no pics, but i'm sure there'll be some posted soon of what i'm talking about.....3rd gen stripes look good w/ the SS hood too, here's a pic of that (one of my favorite 3rd gens):

Nice rims, if you want something different you could go with a stinger stripe like on the 60's vettes that had the big block type hood on em... ill try to find a pic later for ya

 

if i had a black or gray car i'd go with the either black/graphite/gray stripe which i think is really nice. i'm becoming a real fan of boyd and troy T. influences with color schemes....

if i were going with a silver primary color i'd go with a black secondary stripe of sorts. i would like to see an almost solid one piece stripe.

i really like this style of color combinations going with two darker tones. i've been tossing up the idea of working with graphite on my own in some shades.

That color combo on that truck is really nice. Speaking of Troy's cars ive been thinking about doing something similar to that fastback he did. Thats why I picked the rims I did. I just need to know what that color is(the base color). Does any one know what color that is or at least a similar shade?

In the long run it'll probably get painted a grey similar to that of Troys mustang and then get the stock Iroc stripeing and decals put back on(black).

I was thinking about doing the same paint scheme as 9T1 Z-28
on my SS hood....but in silver....kind of still undecided though....
