Getting grease off rims

My rims were pretty nasty looking thanks to the previous owner, and so far nothing I'd tried would get the grease stains and other various soaked in dirt off them.

I plan to polish or replace them eventually, but I wanted a quick fix in the meantime.

So today I picked up a bottle of Dawn Power Dissolver. It works miracles on frying pans, so why not rims?

The stuff is awesome. I didn't even have to scrub, the grease and oil stains just rinsed right off.

Keep in mind that my rims are old and sooner or later I plan to replace them, so I wasn't too worried if it harmed them. I have no idea what this stuff will do to chrome, but it worked awesome on aluminum (stock) rims.

Don't get it on painted surfaces if you can help it either. It doesn't say it will hurt paint, but it does say to be careful if you're unsure.

Anyway, I thought I'd share my discovery since I'm sure there's someone else out there like me who doesn't have the time or resources to do it up right quite yet.
