Polishing black stuff

Whats up guys...couple questions...

my intake snorkel on my 305 tpi looks like it is all spotty with chemical stuff...go figure...i tried using water and windex to clean it up but to no avail...still looks like it did...i was just wondering what you fellas use to polish your intake snorkels (if you get that in depth) and what you use to polish the fog light area, headlight buckets (Camaro guys), and hood louvers (again, camaro guys)...let me know id appreciate it...thanks.

Intake snorkel?!? You mean you can drive your car underwater?

I know I'd like to be able to drive my car underwater without damaging it

Seriously, though, what do you mean by that? The plastic Y-splitter going from the air cleaners to the throttle body?

I used to call them snokels also, lol, until I had to order one and found the real name for it is air ducts. Since yours is 87 i am assuming you are talking about the rectanguler box right at your radiator. Before I upgraded to a CAI, i just painted mine black and did the same with the filter box. Here is really old pic of the engine bay, Hope it helps.

My HS religion teacher once told us that if a guy tells you that he's never "polished his snorkel"... he's either lying or a quadriplegic.

Ive used Meguire's clear plastic cleaner and their polish on some interior black stuff and it shined up like a mirror. Pic doesn't do it justice at all.
