refinishing wheels

what is the best way to completley redo regular z28 rims. i was think sanblasint the entire rim, and than polishing the rased aluminum, what do you guys think

I would not touch machine tools. I got my formula WS6 wheels looking like glass by hand.

First buy about 3 cans of Airplane paint remover from any auto zone or advanced auto.

Spray it on the wheels (tape up what you dont want polished). Remove the clear coat. Use No.7 rubbing compound and water to buff out aluminum. Follow up with MOTHERS polish. Came out like glass.

by the way, i used a dremel at the lowest RPM setting and it left burn marks. I had to wet sand them out.
