Rotating Tires???

Rotating Tires???

I've got a '91 Z28 and i need to rotate my tires. I noticed that on my rims the rear rims say REAR and the front rims say FRONT. Does it matter if put the rear tires with the rim to the front? Or, do i have to remove the tires and just rotate the tires instead of the whole wheel. Are the Front and Rear rims different or what?

The backspacing is different,, the wheels cannot be rotated, except side to side.

Yeah but you can only go front to rear, if i went side to side my tires would be going in the opposite direction. My tires have the Rotation arrow going forward.

When you rotate, your front tire will go on your rear rim on the same side, and vice-versa. I had new tires put on last year, and the bonehead "technician" at the Firestone dealer (yes, Firestone...) put the passenger side front wheel on the rear, and vice versa. Pulled out of the lot and the tie rod end on the right front was hitting the inside of the rim, due to the different wheel offsets. So, watch those idiots when they work on your car...
