Fiberglass 84 hood, plus Fiberglass Scoop?

Well I've seen quite a few posts on fiberglass aftermarket scoops, and the consensus seems to be they don't work to well. The rivets show through and there's cracking after a while. But that's all with steel hoods.
How well does a stock fg hood work with an aftermarket hood scoop? Since they're both fg they won't flex at different rates or anything right? I have the 84 fg hood, and my dream is an SS hood but can't afford $500+.

thanks for any help

I'll bump this topic up to the top because i'm interested in knowing this also. It isn't likely that it'll apply to me, but it's a good question

I thought the factory "fiberglass" hoods weren't actually fiberglass at all.
