91 Z spoiler onto a 88 IROC

My friend just bought a 91 Z and he hates the spoiler. I love it. Hes gona give it to me for my car. Anyone have any idea on how it attaches? Also, does anyone know how to get the stock IROC spoiler off? Thanks

The stock spoiler is bolted on. 5 or 6 hold it to the hatch and you can easily see them with the hatch up. 3 hold each end piece to the quarter panels and they can be seen by removing the plastic trim in the interior. The rice spoiler (oops. I mean the 91 syle spoiler) attaches to the hatch with nuts on the two center posts. To put it on yours, you'll need to drill the new holes in the proper places (don't screw up!), weld grind and fill the old holes, and do a little paint work. I've seen the spoiler just put on in front of the stock spoiler and as far as I'm concerned it's the cheapest, cheesiest possible thing you could do to a car. I'm not a fan of the newer style spoiler, but if you are going to put it on, at least take the old one off. Good luck!

thanks for the um...help. I knew that this one was gona cause some controversy. The pro 91-92 Z facton vs. the non-spoilers. I like the wing and thats all that counts so im gona do it. (I also want to do a 4th gen style SS hood) I dont think its too ***** (ill give it to ya though there is a rice factor here) I hate jap rice and I dont want my car to look gay, but there is plenty of punch to back up the looks (unlike rice) I want to have something to make my car stand out from the other IROCs, I think this will work. I also am going to get it painted this summer, factory black with dark metallic gray/black ghost racing stripes I think it will look very bad a$$ when its done, not really flashy, very understated. But once the turbos spool, well see if anyone talks $hit about it.
