oh ok to the guy who hoses off his engine.. be a brave guy and hose down your alternator while the engine is running... go for it
bet you wont.. if you're so confident do it and post a video.. so we can see the thing die.
not to mention but most peoples wireing harnesses on these cars are not the best and the weather connections are pretty old and cracking, let some water get on those while the car is running and watch what happens..

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAAaaaa!
congrats. you've made my ever growing list of people online to never take advice from.

btw, want to know somthing REALLY crazy?
ive poured water INTO my engine... thats right.. INTO it!
and ive washed it... with both the motor running, and with it not running.
and id bet money that my 13+year old weatherpack connectors could STILL be submerged without trapping water..... not that it matters anyway. water isnt as conductive as say... liquid lead, so its not going to do much electrical wise.... plus the underhood heat would dry it out within minutes of startup.
but if you're really worried, you should relocate your starter.. i mean that BIG RED WIRE is getting wet when you hit puddles.. it could short on the frame and explode the battery!
lmao.

Man you guys are cracking me up.
Take a look at the race cars with all the scoops running around in the rain for hours on end.
Oh and we would also have riced out hondas all over the sides of the roads.
"ive poured water INTO my engine... thats right.. INTO it!" Alot of old school guys clean carbon out of the engine this way but dont give away all the secrets.

The very first thing I thought of when I saw this was the 5" hawks spoiler.
At anyrate, I asked one of my friends who drives car x (we wont name it) and he's looking at getting a heat extractor hood from a company. Evidently there is ducting on the underside of it that diverts water to areas where it just drops onto the ground.

Why should the thread be locked? It's only the people that are acting like children and can not hold back from posting that are destroying the thread. Many are probally grown men too! lol But then again, like mentioned above, many of the people on this site are not A)Into this type of style, or B)Can not afford it when they know damn well that anything quality made of Carbon Fibre will cost some coin, but use the excuse, "its too much!". Yeah, well look at the $500+ fiberglass hood on your car and you tell me that it is made perfecty! I bet more than 50% of the people here with fiberglass hoods are not 100% happy with the quality of their hoods sitting on their cars right now. Things cost money and many do not want to pay up, so they make excuses. Thats my opinion on this hood. I am sure a lot more people want it than who are posting too. I do agree though, the people who manufactured this hood who I have been dealing with are trying to rip us off! The hood is too much damn money. But around the $800 price range, that is not too bad considering this hood is big and had some decent work done to it to be manufactured. Take a look at the import market, for plain jane stock/oem look-a-like hoods that are some of the better ones out there, they want upwards near $600-$1000. Tells you something. Many into thirdgens are not into this type of stuff. Nothing wrong with that, only when people start trouble and come out with some BS excuse like posted here, that is when it gets ugly, and stupid, and out of control.

Returning to my post after a while, its become a circus - NOT my original intention.
I am considering to two options -
#1: First, find an add-on heat extractor of sorts and mold it into an RS hood.
#2: Second, buy two plane tickets, fly to Japan, throw $1500 at the creator of the original and fly back with the hood across the seat on the plane. Certainly cheaper than $1000 for shipping. hehehehe...
Its either that, or abandon all hope of seeing this hood hit American shores.
All in all, I'm pretty irritated that this thread was hijacked in the way it was. The post was created to gauge interest, not hear everyone's whining or opinions on why the hood isn't/shouldn't be created.

Well since Im responsible for ressurecting the hope of this hood being built I guess I'll chime in. I think this thread has served one purpose at least and thats to increase everyones post count....lol. With that being said it would'nt be too hard for someone with alittle bodyworking skills to create a similar hood.
1.) Just take one cowl induction fiberglass hood
2.) Fabricate a reverse style cowl from sheet metal
3.) Measure and cut the hood accordingly
4.) Glass the sheet metal scoop in place
5.) Measure, cut, and bond on 80 camaro fender vents if desired
6.) Fill and smooth hood where needed, prime and paint
I know thats rather a simplistic way of putting it but anyone with alittle bodyworking skill ans patience could handle it Im sure. I think building one yourself is about the only way you'll be getting one of these hoods anytime soon....lol

Bottom line. Unless you can fabricate this hood, don't bother responding. You'll do like the rest of us:
Either make it yourself, wait for aftermarket, or if all else fails, find another hood.
