Painting my Z need some tips

Alright me and a buddy of mine got my 86z28 all sanded down yesterday and we're almost ready to paint it. I'm planning on going with an orange paint with flat black headlight pockets, door handles, and louvers. Okay here is some questions I have for anyone who has painted their car.

1.) How much paint will I need to buy?

2.) A lot of cars that I see repainted look dull. The paint is kind of rough and not very shiney. Why is that?

3.) I also need to know procedures for wet sanding and buffing to bring out a good shine.

don;t use flat black on pockets you won;t like it, use a satin or a gloss reducer with regular paints.

you will need about a gallon of paint for base a gallon of clear, a quart of black. and reducers ect..

here is my paint project you can find most answers....

Here is mine after I painted it in my garage. You'll really only need about 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon of paint and clear after it's all mixed(reducers, hardners, etc) but buy a gallon of each anyway. As you can see in the pic. my paint did not turn out dull,I haven't even wet sanded or buffed it yet.Wait a day then wet sand the car with 1500 grit and go higher if needed then buff with a good buffer and some good polishing compound.
