New wheels (Z06)

I put them on a few days ago. It was a tough choice, but I couldn't really find anything that looks better than these in my opinion (style and size).

They're OC Concepts 17x8.5 wrapped in Hankook 255/40 high performance tires.

I'm going to lower it about an inch or inch and a half front and back, so theres not such a big gap in the wheel wells.

Maybe its just me, but I think they could stand to come outward toward the fender about 1/4"-1/2" or so....

Other than that, they look great!

No, but I am a fan of this:

LBSZ28BLOWN has it right.

Almost but not really. LBSZ28BLOWN has 17x11 tucked in there real tight. The other picture is of the "fat tired/stink bug" look. Funny as hell but also just as ugly.

To stay on topic, Chomp, that looks pretty good.

I disagree.

If the wheels are so far it doesn't look right to me. I had the Z06's on my LS1 Formula and I still thought they could come out a bit.

If they are too far in, it looks like a lowrider, VATO!

Thanks for the compliments guys.

The wheels sit in almost exactly the same position as the stock ones, which is what I wanted.

That white camaro with the 11" wide tires looks too... chubby to me. It will launch like crazy though!

Also when I lower it, I don't want the tires to rub on the outside of the fender. Speaking of lowering it, what are some good lowering springs or what is a good lowering kit. My friend works at a car accesories shop and can get some high quality ones for $250 but it sounds kinda pricey..

...that's cool. Everyone is a little different in their likes/dislikes - I don't know why I was attacked for my taste though.

Personally, I'm a fan of how BMW's sit. Their wheels come out almost flush with the fender. They have a night tight suspension that allows some movement...but they dont rub. I dont really like 'bags' or 'hydros' or any other lowering techniques that would require wheels to be tucked inside the fender too far.

Something like this looks pretty good:

Chomp those rims are sweet! Whenever I get new rims its either those or the ZR1's. The ride looks great too, I like the blackouts. Do you live in Fresno? I though I saw your name in the west coast boards. Oh for springs I would go with the Eibach Sportlines

mike83z-28:

I live in Selma, which is like 20 min south of Fresno if you're not familiar, although I lived in clovis for a while about 5 months ago.
I go to FSU so I'm in fresno just about every other day.

BTW, I just ordered the sportlines from thunderracing.com. They have them on sale tomorrow for $360 with a panhard rod and brackets.
