wheel spacers

I just purchased a set of 17 x 9.5 56mm offset wheels for my 86 trans am.

I know I need spacers, heres what people area saying:
1.25" rear and 2.25" front.

these wheels are a direct bolt on for fourth genners. So heres my question:

is that the minimum? I have seen some pics of these cars and the wheels stick out too far for my liking. I was hoping to err on the short side and maybe use a disc spacer for fine tuning.

Anybody got an pics or advice?

thanks in advance

I dont know the exact offset of the camaro ss wheels I have but if they are the same offset as your wheels then 1.25" and 2.25" spacers would be fine. My rear wheels, the outer edges of the tires line up with the inner edge of the wheel well lip so they dont stick out at all.
