Chrome or Just Repaint??
Ok, so over the winter Im trying to decide what to do with my Z28 wheels for the 91. Im thinking I either want to get them repainted red and clearcoated & put back to factory look. Or, get them chrome plated, because who doesn't like alittle bling!
Anyway, here are some pics of the two options:
Painted back to factory:

Chrome Plated:

What do you guys think?

both have there pluses i like the polished alum look with the paint but mainance is more the chrome would be just wax and wash easier.

hey those are my wheels. I say take them back to stock of course. mostly because once they chrome the wheel I am not sure how good the center cap is gonna look chromed with the plastic on it. actually I say have the unpainted surfaces polished to mirror finish as well as the center cap. then you get some bling but you still get the red accents!!
you can still accent a chrome wheel if you wish... chrome looks 100% better then many hand polished wheels. now if you had it professionally done or really knew what you were doing polished is nice but it is the absolute worst to take care of. if i could chrome my billet wheels i would.

polished with painted accents like stock. i redid my 89 Iroc wheels like that. stripped the clear coat and polished the spokes but repainted the factory grey parts
heres a crappy pic. you cant really tell its polished.

I personally like the polished look a bit better then the chrome look. To me...the chrome look just takes away from the details of the wheel..and makes it look cheap...just my opinion though. Go with what you like man
