removing decal but then putting it back on
I need to remove the emissions decal under the hood. How should I do this without damaging the decal? I've read lots of ideas on removing but which way is best for actually saving the sticker? I'm getting the hood painted on the underside and need this sticker.

tape it up. cover it with tape then cut along the outline with a sharp rasor. it works great. the problem with taking these stickers off is that some off them arent ment ot come off. im not sure if this is the case on our cars or not but when tring to peel these off the sticker will seperate into two halves and the works void will appear on the sticker. its tough to explain. viold will be in clear letters will remain on one half and the sticker will rip off with void in clear letters. i donno if this hepls you but ur best bet is to tape it up.

Ahh well the plot thinkens...I'm probably getting the hood chemically dipped to strip it, so I can't tape it up either. What's the number for Classic Industries?
there is a part number on the bottom right-hand corner of the sticker. they are very very cheap to buy new ones. when you try to peel the old one off, you just peel off the coating and ruin it. i've heard the numbers stay on the hood or they disappear. best bet is to just buy a new one.
